Jacksen Dunn stands out physically for his age, with a tall and strong frame that already projects well for the next level. At the plate, he plays with an aggressive approach and consistently drives the baseball with authority. In batting practice, he frequently sends balls to the fence and will occasionally clear it, showcasing his present power. In games, he maintains that same aggressive mindset, making loud contact to all fields and proving to be a dangerous hitter in any count.

Behind the plate, Jackson moves well for his size and demonstrates a strong work ethic in his catching duties. He is a reliable blocker and works hard to control the game for his pitcher. He also shows early aptitude in game management—calling pitches effectively and providing a big, comfortable target that instills confidence in his battery mates. He has above-average arm strength from the catcher’s position and will continue to gain more as he matures athletically.

Jacksen has room to improve on his speed, which will benefit him in all areas of his game, including base running. Continued work on his mobility and quickness will further enhance his already solid defensive skill set, making him an even more well-rounded backstop.

  • Aaron Schoolcraft

Jacksen is a big kid who moves well for his size, showing agility and athleticism. He has a great sense of humor and keeps things light with jokes, but he’s also a mature competitor with qualities every coach wants to see in a catcher. He demonstrates toughness and resilience, blocking pitches in unpadded areas without flinching and continuing to compete. His high baseball IQ and leadership make him a strong presence behind the plate.

Defensively, Jacksen is a force of nature. He’s accurate with his throws on catcher throw-downs and shows a strong arm that limits the running game. He’s reliable behind the plate, blocking balls and controlling the game. On the mound, he throws strikes, pitches efficiently, and consistently gets hitters out. His mechanics are smooth, and he will gain more velocity as he develops.

At the plate, Jacksen brings power. He hits the ball hard and with authority, finding the barrel often and driving it to all fields. His presence in the box makes him a feared hitter, and he has shown the ability to spark rallies and contribute in clutch moments. His “hard 90s” mentality reflects his effort and determination.

On the bases, Jacksen shows hustle. Despite being a bigger player, he runs hard and even stole a bag, proving he can use his instincts and effort to contribute. His attitude and IQ make him dependable once on the base paths.
