Jonah Kinney has made significant physical strides from 2025 to 2026, and that development has positively impacted every area of his game. He continues to show signs of growth and physical maturation, which creates an exciting level of projectability moving forward.

Offensively, Kinney utilizes a compact stance with connected hands and shows a strong understanding of using the big part of the field. His approach gives him a solid foundation to continue developing into a consistent offensive contributor as his physical tools continue to progress.

Defensively, Kinney provides reliability by handling routine plays and giving infielders a large, consistent target to throw to. His defensive skill set should continue to improve as his athleticism and physical development progress.

The mound is where Kinney’s highest ceiling may ultimately be. His fastball is trending toward the mid-80s, and he shows the athleticism to field his position well. In his most recent outings, he has flashed better shape to his slider, producing more swing and miss and is developing a split finger. His combination of physical growth, arm strength, and overall athletic ability makes him an intriguing follow on the pitching side.
