Pollard, a 2028 shortstop/second baseman set to attend Sunset High School, brings a lean, athletic frame to the field. He’s a smooth defender who keeps his feet active, allowing him to make accurate, timely throws across the diamond.

At the plate, Marcus hits from the left side with a short, compact swing, consistently finding the barrel and staying on plane for a high contact rate. On the base paths, he’s an aggressive and instinctual runner, constantly applying pressure to opposing defenses with his developing speed.

As a pitcher, Marcus is developing well, showing the ability to locate pitches and work counts. He mixes his three-pitch arsenal effectively, keeping hitters off-balance and inducing soft contact.

Known for his high baseball IQ and passion for the game, Marcus is also emerging as a leader on the field.

Marcus is a great kid with a good attitude. He competes at a high level and stays locked in. His presence is steady and his teammates feed off his focus.

He’s smooth in the infield with a strong arm at shortstop. The footwork is clean on relays and his instincts are reliable. On the mound, he attacks hitters with no fear. He’s a strike thrower who gets a lot of ground balls. He’s a good pitcher now with definite room for improvement as the delivery and consistency continue to improve.

At the plate, he hits left-handed and consistently drives the ball to the opposite field. He can also bunt for a base hit and pressure defenses with small ball. He’s a tough out that competes every AB.

He runs well with good agility. He handles the bases with awareness, gets good jumps and secondary leads, and turns contact into pressure.
