Michael Neumayer is a 5’11’’ 180 lb. 2027 out of Sherwood OR attending Sherwood High School. Lean, wiry build with room for added strength. Primary 3B who demonstrated the reflexes to play the corner. Proper pre-pitch footwork puts him on time for balls put in play. Arm strength plays at the corner and does a good job getting his feet under him through the play.

On the mound, works out of the wind up and the stretch and gets downhill with a 3/4 delivery. Locates his fastball that sits in the mid-upper 70’s. Keeps hitters off balance with a swing and miss slider.

Right-handed hitter with an even stance and upright posture. High back elbow and has bat perpendicular with the ground in his load. Hands are steep into the zone and creates barrel lag through the zone. Barrel has a tendency to snap through at contact and has consistent line drives. Good student, 3.8 GPA.

Michael is coachable with good hustle and great effort. He performs well under pressure and has the knack to come up big, including walk-off moments to help his team win.

At third base, he owns a strong arm and keeps tough hops in front of him. He’s aggressive, charges the ball well, and turns 99% of balls hit his way into routine outs.

Offensively, he can drive the ball and already finds the barrel a lot in games. In BP, continuing to find even more consistent barrel will raise his stock as a hitter. He can drive the ball gap to gap when he is on time and has good rhythm.

He runs well and shows high IQ on the bases, turning contact and miscues into extra bases.
