Ryan Gresham is a 2027 catcher/right-handed pitcher out of Sunset High School in Portland Oregon. Possesses a remarkable skill set for his age behind the plate and exhibits an elite understanding of the game. He continues to grow and get stronger and has an athletic build with a well above average baseball IQ. Demonstrates developing arm strength and a 2.28 pop time, consistently throwing out baserunners. He does a great job of keeping the ball close on pitches in the dirt and works very quickly to get himself in the best position to make a play.

An aggressive hitter who has the ability to drive the ball all around the park. Has a power-hitting approach, driving the ball to all fields with an impressive gap-to-gap ability. Improving his contact percentage and lowering his strike out rate resulting in increased OBP. Tall set up with a small leg lift, he is able to get his hands quickly to the zone and extend through the pitch. Natural swing patch creates backspin and lift in the gaps. Instinctual baserunner with anticipation often resulting in extra bases.

On the mound Ryan is a heavy strike thrower, he has above average off-speed that will keep hitters off balance.  His fastball does have arm side run and clocks at 77 MPH.

Ryan is a strong, athletic kid who plays with confidence and rhythm. He shows maturity beyond his years and carries himself with steady energy. His toughness, composure, and positive attitude make him a reliable teammate and competitor who consistently brings effort to the field.

Behind the plate, Ryan has quick hands and athletic footwork. He blocks pitches well, recovers quickly, and has the awareness to defend bunts cleanly. His receiving is solid, and he does a good job of stealing strikes for his pitchers. He shows a strong, accurate arm paired with a smooth transfer that allows him to limit the running game effectively. On the mound, he throws from a three-quarters arm slot and mixes a fastball, curveball, and changeup to challenge hitters. His fastball comes with good life and steady velocity, the curveball shows movement, and the changeup gives him a quality third pitch. While he works with clean mechanics and fills up the zone, there is still room to improve on the mound as he develops more consistency with his command and pitch mix.

At the plate, Ryan hits from a slightly open stance with the ability to cover the outside part of the plate. His swing is quick and compact, consistently finding the barrel and driving the ball with authority. There is natural quick-twitch action in his movements that allows him to generate easy power, and he’s shown the ability to adjust his approach to different pitches and situations. His offensive approach makes him a consistent threat in the lineup.

On the bases, Ryan runs with awareness and aggressiveness. He has already shown the ability to steal bases, get good jumps, and uses his athleticism to put pressure on defenses. His hustle and instincts make him a dependable runner who adds another dimension to his game.
