Height/Weight: 5'9", 130 lbs.
Primary Position: OF | Secondary Position: LHP | Bats/Throws: L/L
Ryan Williams is a wiry, athletic left-handed pitcher and hitter with a high ceiling and plenty of projection ahead. On the mound, he shows a clean, repeatable delivery with a distinct rhythm—starting his hands low in the stretch and moving them high in the windup. He consistently commands the zone with his fastball, showing the ability to work to both sides of the plate. His sweeping slider is an effective secondary pitch, generating chase and weak contact. Ryan’s athleticism is evident in his movements, body control, and ability to make adjustments on the fly. As he continues to develop physically, there is significant upside in both velocity and overall pitch effectiveness.
At the plate, Ryan utilizes a fairly upright stance with his toes on the chalk and his hands set over the plate, making it uncomfortable for pitchers to work inside against him. He features a smooth, controlled swing and makes consistent contact. At times, he will drop his shoulder slightly, which can cause him to foul balls off toward the third base side, but his overall approach allows him to compete in every at-bat and put the ball in play with authority. His athleticism is also evident on the base paths, where he demonstrates a high baseball IQ, reading pitchers well and taking smart, aggressive opportunities to advance.
Ryan is very coachable and a quick learner in all areas of the game. He consistently applies feedback, works hard to improve, and brings a positive presence to any team environment. Additionally, he is a great kid who is motivated to play baseball at the next level.
Aaron Schoolcraft
Ryan is a hardworking player with a positive vibe who consistently brings energy to his team. He looks ready to play from the moment he steps on the field and shows maturity beyond his years. His lean build gives him room to add muscle, and his attitude and effort make him a strong teammate.
Defensively, Ryan brings value both as an outfielder and a pitcher. In the field, he is quick and agile, getting good jumps with room for further growth. His arm is strong and accurate, making him a reliable defender. On the mound, he has easy throwing mechanics, locates well, and shows good fastball velocity. He also mixes in quality secondary pitches to keep hitters off balance.
At the plate, Ryan is a left-handed hitter with good pitch selection and contact skills. He finds the barrel often and drives the ball to the opposite field. He has come through in pressure situations, hitting to the opposite field and starting rallies when his team needed it most. His approach makes him a consistent offensive contributor.
On the bases, Ryan is fast and aggressive. He shows good instincts, gets quality jumps, and has the ability to steal bags. His quickness and willingness to push the tempo make him a reliable weapon on the base paths.
