Will Emerson is a 5’9’’ 160 lb. 2028 out of Portland OR attending Central Catholic High School. Primary middle infielder with prototypical frame ready for added strength. Athletic read step allows him to get to balls deep in the hole. Exhibits plus arm strength from the left side. Good awareness of the position and advanced IQ for his age.

Right-handed hitter at the plate, balanced stance with good rhythm in his set up. Front leg hovers on his load and is efficient with his hands as they are delivered to the zone. Weight floats to the front side but is quickly transferred behind the ball with leverage. Gets to a good power position with his hands and works through the zone. Hits to all fields with easy power to the gaps. High upside player with good foundation.

William is a good athlete with a strong build and a positive attitude. He’s a competitor who will sacrifice his body and plays with composure. His movements are smooth and he carries himself with confidence.

In the field, he moves well laterally and shows smooth hands with a quick transfer. He can jump to snag overthrows at second base and backhand the ball cleanly in the 6 hole. He’s confident on the mound. The fastball has good velocity. He threw three consecutive scoreless innings in game action. The curveball has bite and works as a strikeout pitch, especially against right-handed hitters. There is real upside on the mound with plenty of room for growth.

At the plate, he tracks the ball well and keeps a quiet head. He has good pop and consistently hits the ball hard. He finds holes and shows clear upside as a hitter. Tightening the swing path to be a little more short and compact will help him unlock even more at the plate.

On the bases, he runs well and shows good IQ. He takes the extra base when it’s there and helps create runs with smart decisions.
